Shoichi Hasegawa, a first-year doctoral student (D1) in the Emergent Systems Laboratory, received the SCREEN Award (a corporate award from SCREEN Holdings Corporation) at the Kyoto Qualia Forum 2022 Doctoral Career Messe KYOTO, which was held online on 1 November 2022. The Kyoto Qualia Forum was organized as a first step towards boosting doctoral students in Kyoto and Nara through honest discussions about the expectations and current status of doctoral students, and was supported by the “Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology University Fellowship Establishment Project for Technological Innovation Creation” and this event was organized in collaboration with six universities in Kyoto and Nara that have been selected for the “JST Challenging Research Programme for Next Generation Researchers”. In Part 2: Getting to know doctoral students, 47 students from six universities belonging to the Kyoto Qualia Forum presented their research in ten groups of four to five students per group.
