Emergent System Lab. in Ritsumeikan University invites a post-doctoral fellow for the following project.
JST CREST Project on "Symbol Emergence in Robotics for Future Human-Machine Collaboration" in Research Area of "Intelligent Information Processing Systems Creating Co-Experience Knowledge and Wisdom with Human-Machine Harmonious Collaboration".

The employed researcher is expected to contribute to research topics about Symbol Emergence in Robotics for
Future Human-Machine Collaboration. Especially. the researcher is expected to be involved in a research project related to hierarchical formation of spatial and linguistic knowledge by a robot that enables human-robot collaboration.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Machine Learning, Robotics, Human-machine Interaction, Natural Language Processing, Intelligent Information Processing, and other research fields related to Symbol Emergent Robotics.

Applicants must have a Ph.D or doctoral degree in a related field.
[Starting date]
April 1st, 2016 or later.
[Employment status]
One year contract (Maximum of 5 years)
[Compensation]
JPY 330,000 yen/month (SS2 Class Based on the Regulations for Ritsumeikan Univ.)
If applicants have sufficient publications and capability for achieving important contribution to this project, Payment will be JPY 380,000 yen/month (SS1 Class Based on the Regulations for Ritsumeikan Univ.)
Commuting allowance, family allowance, house allowance are not paid.
